Reviewed transboundary conservation motions submitted to the IUCN World Conservation Congress. Final adoption:  Recommendation No. 35 – Transboundary Cooperation and Protected Areas.

12th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP 12) (Pyeongchang, Republic of Korea, 2014)

Authored a statement Transboundary Cooperation for Biodiversity and Peace, put forward by Korea National Park Service and adopted at the high-level segment of CBD COP 12.

IUCN World Parks Congress (Sydney, Australia, 2014)

Developed and secured input of transboundary conservation related recommendations into the Promise of Sydney, the main output of the IUCN World Parks Congress. The transboundary recommendations form part of Enhancing the diversity and quality of governance stream.

WCPA’s Transboundary Conservation Specialist Group Statement

Authored the Razor Wire between European Countries Endangers Wildlife statement put forward by WCPA’s Transboundary Conservation Specialist Group.

9th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP 9) (Bonn, Germany, 2008)

Authored the Joint Statement for Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Dinaric Arc signed by representatives of six South-Eastern European governments, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia, at CBD COP 9. The Joint Statement is considered to be a historic agreement in which the governments committed to mutual cooperation in protected area management and transboundary cooperation for sustainable development. Maja Vasilijević also cooperated with the six governments in identifying key national priorities for the implementation of the CBD Programme of Work on Protected Areas, presented at the CBD COP 9. The whole effort is known as the Big Win for Dinaric Arc Initiative, led by WWF and supported by the Dinaric Arc Initiative partners (UNESCO, IUCN, UNDP, Council of Europe, FAO, UNEP, SNV, Euronatur, ECNC, and CIC), and was funded by MAVA Foundation.
